The National Center for Atmospheric Research is ready to tackle the 21st-century questions society needs answered about our complex Earth system, from weather to water, climate, space weather, food, energy, transportation, land-use change, and more. This work is supported and strengthened by the collaborative power of the 117 member colleges and universities of the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research. UCAR accelerates and amplifies this research and education engine through partnerships with the broader public, private, and academic community.
In 2017, UCAR established Friends of the National Center, building on the success of earlier donor support efforts begun in 1996. For the first two decades, donated funds supported development by the UCAR Center for Science Education of successful innovations in science education and public science literacy.
Today, Friends of the National Center broadens that focus to include additional ways of advancing Earth system science. As we reach out to alumni and friends in the broader community, we invite you to join us in advancing this legacy of support.
